How can we create experiences that are greater than the sum of their parts, that create a container for deep reflection and community building while inspiring action?

How can we create a scalable, universal transformative experience that goes on, that anyone can receive, no matter where you are, who you are, or what your beliefs are?

“A Collection of Journeys”

“A Collection of Journeys” is an ongoing, living multi-media community artwork. It is a compilation of artifacts produced by community members in a series of online workshops in collaboration with The Verse. In these participatory art experiences, Ben Simon-Thomas, Founder of The Verse, and I collaborate to lead these workshops, reflecting on a number of pressing topics (workshops so far have explored curiosity, self-care and community care, grief, interpersonal connection, and self-expression). Future workshops are: issue-driven such as climate change and the concept of ecological belonging, small conversations, and synchronistic moments. We invite participants to bring a personal artifact (a photo, a song, a journal entry, a physical keepsake) to these workshops, and we use these objects to guide participants through the ritual of creating free-form psyche maps, building a visual archetypal journey of conscious and unconscious processes. The workshop finishes with a community integration, where participants seal the ritual container, share their stories, connect deeply, and heal together.

Role: Built in collaboration with reference to previous WalkXR workshop design in The Verse. Thank you to everyone that has participated with us in these workshops for their vulnerability to share their unique perception.
